Learn computer at home

Balaji Venkatesan (46) runs a computer centre that helps people learn the basics of computer skills right at their homes.
GIIT (Grand Institute Information Technology) is located at R. A. Puram.
Balaji says he has been teaching computers for the last 10 years. He has a bachelors degree in economics and a diploma in computers from Aptech Computers. He has also been a trainer at DHL previously.

He provides assistance to people who wish to learn how to use simple software such as MS Office, Internet, Tally and basic computer operation. On registration, his faculty comes to your doorstep to teach you.


He teaches people of all age groups. But most requests come from people who are above 50 years. Among his students are doctors, housewives, and small businessmen who wish to turn tech savvy.

He charges Rs.150 per hour for those residing in the areas of Mylapore, Alwarpet and R. A. Puram and Rs.200 for those who live beyond these places.

Balaji says that he will be launching his book ‘MS Office – Practical Step by Step Guide’ in a few months to mark the 10th anniversary of his institute.
