Chennai has been receiving light showers during the past week.
Yesterday, July 5 saw heavy rains that flooded some parts of the low-lying areas in the city. Mylapore too had good rains.
The first photograph featured here is of San Thome High Road and the second photograph is of a street in Mandaveli after the rains.
The sudden showers brought in relief as the city was facing a high temperature during the past few days.
In spite of the rains, the temperature on Monday, July 5 was 34 degrees.
