If you have been inside the two main sannidhis at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple recently you may have found yourself in a rather cool place, quite different from what it used to be.
The cooling effect has been made possible by the air-conditioning system which was recently erected here.
The ducts have been fixed at different places on the roof. However, the sannidhis (of Kapaleeswarar and Karpagambal) are not sealed at the entrance.
Temple officials said that a devotee who wished to remain anonymous has borne the expenses of this air-conditioning system.
Devotees who offered prayers last week said that the facility is welcome especially in summer.
