The president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (I) K V Thangkabalu has declared that Mylapore MLA. S. Ve. Shekher and a few others have been expelled from the party for anti party actts during the elections.
This development took place a day after polling, April 13.
Shekher had joined the Congress(I) recently and had also applied for the party ticket for Mylapore. He did not get it. Eventually, Thangkabalu himself became the Mylapore candidate.
Shekher campaigned only sparsely and had also said publicly that people in the constituency expected the Congress (I) to give him the ticket.
