Grand Sweets opens shop in R. A. Puram

If you swear by Grand Sweets and Snacks you do not have to go all the way to Gandhi Nagar, Adyar anymore.

A branch has opened recently in Raja Annamalaipuram.

The snacks place is situated in a renovated Madras-roof art deco bungalow, one of the few that survive on the broad Venkatakrishna Road.

All the popular varieties of south Indian sweets and savouries, from laddoos and jangiris to chips and thattais are available here. All freshly prepared for the day’s sales.

Already, the place is packed in the evenings and on weekends.

Recently, the Grand Sweets founder’s kin decided to set up their own lines of business and the sisters have gone on to set up branches in the city, using the original name.

Priyanka Madan is the managing director of the chain which opened the R. A. Puram outlet.

Priyanka says that a dine-in facility is coming up in the first floor of this bungalow.

“We will soon be setting up a kitchen here and it will serve mini meals, varieties of rice, chaats and South Indian snacks,” she says.

This Grand Sweets outlet is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on all days.

It is located at 74, Venkatakrishna Road, R. A. Puram (opp. Navasuja Sankara Nethralaya, close to the Mandaveli MRTS station). Ph: 4265 5834 / 36

  1. Couple of time they gave old and spoiled items. I gave a written complain and there is no response from there. Be careful to take the items from inside the store and not from the display.
