The harvest festival of Kerala, Onam was celebrated in a grand manner in some pockets of the neighbourhood.
Many people visited the Sri Iyyappan Temple in MRC Nagar since dawn to take part in the special pooja that were held.
Among them were R. Rajeswari her husband V. Rajesh and their son R. Harish came dressed in the traditional attire to offers prayers at this temple. They are residents of West Canal Bank Road, Mandaveli (photo on left).
Vijisha Sathish a resident of Visalakshi Nagar designed a pookalam in front of her house in the R. A. Puram area (photo below left).
Elsewhere, the staff of State Bank of Travancore located at Eldams Road took some time off to design a pookalam inside the bank. A lamp lighting ceremony was held and sweets and savouries were distributed to customers of the day (photo below right).
