Panchanga Patanam was read on Tamil New Year day, April 13 at Sri Sankarara Gurukulam at C. P. Ramaswamy Street, Abhiramapuram.
Khousikan, a traditional astrologer read out the Panchangam and explained it to the public.
Similar sessions were held across the area on Friday.
Copies of the panchangam are also on sale at shops in Mylapore.
