Dr. S. N. Lakshmi, aged 78, passed away on July 14. She was a longtime resident of Mylapore.
She retired as the Joint Director of Health Services, Kancheepuram and has worked in many government hospitals in various capacities – Civil Surgeon , Chief Medical Officer, Tiruvallur, Deputy Director of Health Services, Pudukottai and District Medical Officer Periyakulam.
She was known for her diagnostic skills and was a popular doctor, says a family member. She supported social service activities and medical care in Sai Baba Temple, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore Academy’s free health centre and volunteered to attend on needy patients from all walks of life, her family said.
