Aahar is a multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant at Mylapore which opened in February, 2012. It is located on Thiru Vi. Ka. Road.
The restaurant is at the first floor and its party hall is at the second floor. The building is centrally air-conditioned.
The restaurant is of 3,000 sq. ft. area, and can serve 150 customers at a time.
The restaurant serves North Indian, traditional South Indian, Chinese, Tandoori and Chettinad food.
The menu includes varieties of idlis like Podi Idli and Sambar Idly and dosa varieties like Pudhina Dosa and Dry Fruit Rava Dosa.
At lunctime, it offers meals. The Aahar meal and the Punjabi meal is priced at Rs.130.
Sweets and fresh juices are also on the menu.
But the best seller this far is the Podi Idli – small iddlis rolled in a chilli-dhall idli powder. At Aahar, they say they add white sesame to the mix. Customers can specify if they want the idlis in ghee or in gingelly oil.
You get 15/17 in a plate. Costs Rs.40 and is available only after 7 p.m.
The services that they provide include outdoor catering services and free home delivery, party hall on rent ( can seat about 200 people) with customised arrangements.
K. Balaji, one of the promoters says the roof-top garden space is also open and used for parties and get-togethers.
