Affordable food for labourers, auto drivers and maids; state-run restaurant opens in San Thome

People who can afford to spend only a few rupees on breakfast or lunch now have a restaurant to go to courtesy the AIADMK government. Affordable food joints are being launched in each of the city’s civic zones and one of them is in San Thome.

The launch was due this afternoon.

The San Thome food centre is located near the Registration Department office, near the Lazarus Church Road junction on San Thome High Road.

This food place offers idlis and a variety of rices like sambhar, curd and lemon rice. The place is meant for daily wage laborers, auto drivers, maids and masons.

The food place is managed by a women self-help group and supervised by Chennai Corporation, the city’s civic body.
