Members of the Youth Commission and youth wings of the Catholic Church of Madras-Mylapore diocese have begun a symbolic fast at the Community College campus in San Thome to urge India to support a stronger resolution at the UN to act against Sri Lanka for its alleged war time crimes against the Tamils there.
The fast began at about 9.30 a.m. and as the day progressed, priests, nuns and lay people also joined the youths who had come from all over the city.
The campus is located off Kutchery Road and is near the cathedral.
