The centenary celebration of wellknown Justice B.S. Somasundaram was held on April 7 at Kamaraj Arangham, Teynampet with union minister G K Vasan presiding and a host of leading citizens taking part in it.
These included Congress (I) state chief, B S Gnanadesikan, politician Dr K Veeramani, scholar Dr Avvai Natarajan, and advocate G Masilamani.
A portrait of the late judge was unveiled and a souvenir for this occasion was released.
Justice B.S. Somasundaram was resident of R.A. Puram for nearly four decades and held many posts besides being a judge.
His son, Dr. B. S. Ayyappan, a renowned cardilogist has established BSS Hospital in remembrance of his father at Mandaveli and has been providing healthcare to the people in and around Mylapore for the past 27 years.
In view of the centenary celebrations, health camps were conducted last year in Batlagundu, the native place of the Justice Somasundaram.
