A plan to build a grade separator at the Mandaveli roads junction to facilitate better traffic flow has got firmer. Chennai Corporation’s plans for this and a few other projects of the same kind have moved forward now.
The grade separator is to come up at the junction of R K Mutt Road and Venkatakrishnan Road, near the busy MTC terminus here. While the flow of traffic north-south is very high though the Mylapore-bound traffic is diverted via Venkatakrishna Road, the west-east flow towards Foreshore Estate is also steady as many schools are located on that side of the neighbourhood.
