A memorial pillar was unveiled on the campus of Al India Radio’s station in the city on June 19 morning. The honours were done by Jawahar Sircar, CEO, Prasar Bharati in the presence of a host of AIR and DD dignitaries from Delhi and here.
This was to mark the diamond jubilee of this station.
NCC cadets of JBAS College welcomed the guests with a ceremonial event.
A grand event had been held at Vani Mahal the previous day to mark the jubilee. But hardly any senior Carnatic vidwan was seen at this event where Dr M. Balamuralikrishna presented a short concert.
