Children’s Day celebrations continue in the area. This weekend, The Mylapore Academy is hosting one and recognising teachers who have won state and national awards and children who topped in a series of contests that the Academy held.
Former IAS officer G Santhanam is the chief guest.
The event is on Nov.23, 6 pm onwards at the Sringeri Jagatguru Pravachana Mandiram Hall opposite the Mandaveli MRTS rail station.
Supporting the event are Indian Overseas Bank, Kappa Charitable Trust, Singhvi Trust, Lions Club of Chennai East Coast and P Nalliah Chetty Trust.
The Academy is in its 55th year of community service.
