The cyclonic winds and sparse rain that hit the city since early morning did affect some parts of the neighbourhood.
Large branches of avenue and garden trees came crashing down in areas of R. A. Puram and Abhiramapuram.
There were no reports of any accidents or damage to property.
By 10 a.m., all was well as the windy conditions subsided.
