Modern life-skills training centre for teens with special needs to be opened

V-Excel Educational Trust, along with Dr. & Mrs. Sudhir Krishnamurthi, will inaugurate Kaustubh, a state-of-the-art vocational and life-skills training centre for young adults with special needs. The event is on Jan.26 afternoon.

For Dr. Sudhir Krishnamurthi, senior managing director at The Rock Creek Group, LP in the United States, and his wife Nalini, to set up a dynamic and avant-garde vocational training centre, providing similar opportunities for young autistic adults as their own son received in the US, was a long-cherished dream.

In collaboration with the Mandaveli-based V-Excel Educational Trust, the launch of Kaustubh, will be the fulfilment of their dream

Kaustubh will be inaugurated on January 26 at 3:30 p.m. by  Justice S. Ranganathan, former judge, Supreme Court of India. The other guests are Harish Mehta, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, and Malvika Iyer, bomb blast survivor, who holds a Ph.D in disability & inclusion, motivational speaker and social worker.

“As part of our unique ‘Life Span Education Model’, where we offer complete and comprehensive services for individuals with special needs, starting from birth to adulthood, Kaustubh is an important milestone for us,” says Dr. Vasudha Prakash, founder and director of V-Excel Educational Trust.

V-Excel Educational Trust is an 11-year-old organisation based in Chennai and has successfully been running an educational and vocational training institution dedicated to the cause of persons with special needs.
