A group of the Tamil Nadu Special Youth Brigade has joined the police at the Mylapore Police Station last week. The members will assist the local police to drive their vehicles, do office/clerical work and support rescue and allied operations.
The state has created this brigade to support the police force. A court though has ruled that the brigade is not a police force.
The youths at Mylapore number about a dozen and were seen at work on the weekend.
