Polling booths being prepared for Thursday

Election-Work-Police-MeatinWork is in full swing at all the polling booths in this neighbourhood to ready for the election day, April 24. Since this morning, in R. A. Puram and Abhiramapuram, in Mandaveli and in Alwarpet workers were seen erecting poles to create queues to the booth, set up compartments, arrange the furniture.

In some places like at Raja Muthiah School Election-Polling-centre-in-Abhiramapuram-1in R. A. Puram, workers were setting up ramps for the elderly and infirm. It appeared this facility would be set up in many booths.

At this venue, local policemen reported for duty and their seniors allocated poll work to them and small groups headed to the booths they were assigned to.

The EVMs and files required for the polling should arrive tonight and staff will take position at the booths this evening and stay on till polling is done by 6 p.m. on Thursday.
