The Mylapore unit of Thamizhnadu Brahmin Association conducted a samashti upanayam for 11 boys on June 22 at Sankara Madham, Mylapore. The boys were taken in a procession from the Gandhi statue at Chitrakulam to Sankara Madham. New clothes and a silver coin were given to them. About 400 people participated in this event.
