Water Board officials recently removed a block from the drainage system outside the corporation complex at C. P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet. A leak has occurred and the businesses have now been forced to deal with the slush and the smell.
M. Sundaram who runs a pharmacy on the ground floor of the complex says , “On Aug 16 I complained to the water board and they showed up on Tuesday – Aug 19 to evaluate the block. They came back today to remove the block and a leak has occured. The stench is unbearable”. So will the water board come back to clean up the mess? He says, “I dont know. We just have to wait and see.”
