The St. Vincent De Paul Society unit at Our Lady of Guidance Church in R A Puram is holding its 72nd annual day at the church campus on Oct.26, Sunday 11 a.m. onwards. Fr. P S Kanickairaj and Fr Issac Newton who serve this community are chief guests besides priests of the diocese who manage the Society units’ affairs.
This group takes care of the less privileged of society in the church and outside. Its sewing training project for local women has become a big hit since the women who get trained at the Society’s premises go on to make a decent income in their neighborhoods.
Stitching blouses and innerwear and clothes for babies is still in demand, says one Society member at this church.
A Clement Louis Raj and S. Arputha Nathan are the president and secretary of this unit.
