Civic workers moved into many parts of R. K. Math Road today to clear the potholes that dot it and to fill them as quickly as they could since the rain has stopped. Chennai Corporation has promised people that it will repair badly damaged roads.
R K Math Road is only one of the many roads in the Mylapore area but since it is a busy one with heavy traffic of buses, lorries, vans, cars and bikes through the day and night, it is badly damaged in many sections.
Residents though are not impressed with the move. Some who live in Mandaveli said that many inner streets are in bad shape and school kids and seniors find it very difficult to use them especially when it rains and hence, these too must be repaired.
