The Brahmotsavam festival of Srinivasa Perumal are going at Vedanta Desikar Temple. On May 27, the seventh day of the festival, was the ‘ther’ festival. More than 200 people gathered in front of the temple to pull the chariots through the streets adjoining the temple.
There is a uniqueness associated with this festival – it is mostly the women who pull the chariot. The other vahanams are carried by the men who do it as a service, so women have the opportunity to pull the chariot to give in their contribution.
