The main shutter of the gigantic shed which houses the ther ( chariot) of Sri Kapali Temple remains trapped at the roof-top now for the past two months. Temple officials have stated that the estimate for its repair is being sent to the PWD department and work will start soon.
The south-facing shutter has rusted badly and became in-operational sometime ago – thus, the chariot which was readied for the Panguni festival earlier this year is now exposed.
A makeshift barrier has been erected at its base to discourage people from entering the brick-and-mortar shed.
