18 students from 7 colleges and institutes participated in an intercollegiate debate competition (in English) held at Kalyana Nagar Association, Mandavelipakkam today morning (Sep 19). The topic was ‘Is Astrology a science or Myth’. The chief guest was K. N. Ramaswamy, director, Bhavans, Chennai Chapter.
The first prize was won by Annapoorna of SSN College of Technology, the second prize was given to Ram Kiran of SDNB College and the third prize was bagged by Sneha of MT Educare at Rani Annadurai Street, Mylapore.
The event was judged by retd. prof – Dr. Bhooma, entrepreneur – Mary Rodriguez, and advocate Suraj Viswanathan. The cash prizes, trophies and medals were sponsored by Subramaniam Bros Pvt. Ltd, a publishing company. A free one year subscription to the popular ‘Tattvaloka’ magazine was also given to all the students and the dignitaries.
