Mylaporeans organise flood relief efforts

This is what two groups in the Mylapore area did to help the flood victims:

Ramakrishna Mutt 7746

A team from Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Mylapore consisting of students, monastic members, teachers and volunteers helped out on Nov 15, 16  and 17 by packing 12500 food packets and distributing them using four lorries to the people living in low lying areas of Raja Shanmugam Nagar, Kargil Nagar, VOC Nagar, Satyavanimuthu Nagar, Annai Sivagami Nagar and several other localities in Ennore.

Medical relief was also initiated by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai by arranging a mobile medical van with doctors.

Medical camp by rapraR. A. Puram Residents Association conducted a medical camp at Radhakrishnapuram, off Greenways Road on Nov 18. The camp was sponsored by Kauvery Hospitals. Around 300 patients were examined by a team of doctors headed by Dr. R. Chandrasekaran. Common ailments like flu, arthritis, anaemia and foot fungus were treated and medicines were distributed free of cost.

One more camp will be conducted in association with Girishwari Hospital, Alwarpet at Visalakshi Thottam on Nov 20. For details contact 9841030040.
