The preparations are on for the maha kumbabhishekam of Sri Vadagoor Selva Vinayagar Temple at V. S. V. Koil Street, Mylapore which will be held from Feb 17 – 19. The festivities will start off with the Ganapathi homam on Feb 17 at 7 a.m. In the evening, the yagasalai poojai will commence.
On Feb 18, the day will begin at 7.30 a.m. with the Visesha Dravya homam followed by the yantra stapanam at 5 p.m. On Feb 19, the vimana kumbabhishekam will take place at 6. 30 a.m and the maha kumbabhishekam for the main idol (moolavar) and the other idols will take place at 7 a.m. A maha abhishekam will be held at 9 a.m. In the evening, a veedi purappadu (procession) will be held. The deities – Sri Vinayagar and Sri Subramanya will be taken on the mooshika vahanam and mayil vahanam respectively.
