Soulful concert by special children at World Disability day celebrations

World disability day

“I have the satisfaction of listening to a full concert. I do not know whom to congratulate? Whether the teacher or the student?” – this was the statement made by violinist Dr. Chandrasekaran at the World Disability Day celebrations conducted by Sowmanasya Trust and Lotus Foundation on Feb 7.

A special performance was given by Krishnakumar accompanied by Karthic on the violin,
Gowthaman on the mridangam, Chinmay on the ghatam and Jaitheerth on the kanjira.

Trained by their teacher Lakshmi Mohan, their interpretation of Arunachala Kavi’s Rama Nataka songs left the audience spellbound. Songs sung included ramanukku mannan in raga hindolam, yaaro ivar yaaro in bairavi, eppadi manam in husaini and several others.

The students were appreciated for their performance and their guru was congratulated for beautifully compressing the Ramayana in 80 minutes.
