The Mylai Thiruvalluvar Thamizh Sangam is celebrating its 30 years with an event on April 30 evening at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, 6 p.m. onwards.
Its key promoter, former All India Radio producer and Kalaimamani awardee, Dr Cheyon alias Murugan says a group of people who have stood by the Sangam and its educational and cultural activities and heads of schools and colleges which encouraged its students to participate in the Sangam activities will be recognised on this occasion.
Awards will also be given to youths who excelled in the Sangam’s annual talent search contests.
