AUGUST 19

<< 6.30pm – Screening on 2 docu-films on famed Madras artists. At Gallery Sri Parvati, Eldams Road, Alwarpet. Two documentaries ‘Golden Flute’ and ‘Kamadhenu’ are on Alphonso Arul Doss and Veera Santhanam; the films are directed by Gita, city based painter and film-maker. The screening will be followed by interaction with artists.

<< 5.30 pm – Talk – ‘ Chennai History through Church Architectural Styles’. By Dr. Rev. Amaladass Anand, Jesuit scholar-writer. At Dhyana Ashram, Madha Church Rd, Mandaveli. Open to all. One hour.

AUGUST 20

<< 6.00am – Walk: British Blueprints 1- Lighthouse to War Memorial. Discover colonial Madras through the buildings the British left behind.

AUGUST 23

9.30am – Heritage of Chennai – Multimedia Presentation Contest for City Schools. Theme; Streetscapes. Student teams study a street in the city, document it and present it.

At Srinivasa Sastri Hall, Luz. Supported by Mylapore Times and SINA.

AUGUST 24

6 pm onwards – Armenians in Chennai – exhibition. Inauguration on Aug. 24 – will be open to public from Aug.25 to 27,  10 a.m to 5 p.m. on Aug.24 evening, talks on ‘Armenian Culture’ by Ashken Khachatryan, ‘ by Girija Raghavan on ‘ History of Madras’, etc. Open to all.

AUGUST 25

Theme – History, Art, Architecture and traditional games – by Dr Chithra Madhavan, historian with Vinita Sidhartha of Kreeda. During this session, Vinita will talk on the games and their link to life as we know it today. Guests will be encouraged to find the boards when they visit the temple.

The sixth edition of The Murugappa Madras Quotient Quiz will be held on Saturday, 3rd September 2016 at St. Bede’s Auditorium, Santhome.  This Quiz will be conducted by Dr Navin Jayakumar.
