The ball has been set rolling for local body elections and in the case of the city, elections to choose councillors in the city’s Corporation.
Elections will be held on October 19, in the second phase of local body polls across the state. Polling will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Many wards have been reserved for women and for SC/ST candidates.
The AIADMK party was quick to announce its candidates and in the Mylapore zone, that list features many women since many wards are reserved for women.
