The civic project along the beachside Marina Loop Road that skirts the kuppams on one side and beach on the other in San Thome is still going on as its own pace though it was started long ago.
The road has been widened and cemented, a drain system has been constructed and now, workers are constructing a wide pavement on one side and also raising a tall wall that divides the kuppam campuses and public space.
This work covers the road section from behind the Light House and to the junction where it joins Dr DGS Dinakaran Road in Foreshore Estate.
Traffic has been allowed all through the times when work was on; using part of the road that was free for motorists.
