Residents of Nocchikuppam had to resort to an agitation to get the Chennai Corporation staff of the area to clear the vegetation on the sands of the Marina which they say is cause for some civic problems.
Residents said that rats made the vegetation their home and fed on food and fish leftovers here. Snakes were attracted by the presence of the rodents.
These posed problems to children and adults who use this area to play or to work.
They said that Corporation did not respond to their pleas and hence they had to stage a road roko to get the officials moving.
