Jayanthi Srivatsan: Dancer honoured

The America Tamil Sangam, headquartered in New York, recently honoured Bharatanatyam dancer Jayanthi Srivatsan, with the title of ‘Naatya Tharagai’ at an event held in the city.

Jayanthi, who is the disciple of gurus Roja Kannan and Bragha Bessell has been propagating this dance form for more than two decades. She had her initial training from guru Adyar. K. Lakshman under whom she performed her arangetram.

She has perfomed in several sabhas in the city and has also toured Malaysia and Singapore for dance recitals and workshops. She is the director of a dance school ‘Naatya Aradhana’ at Abhirampuram. She is a resident of Mylapore and can be reached at 9841129689.
