Hotel Crowne Plaza on TTK Road in Alwarpet has been secured because the Chennai Super Kings cricket team playing in the IPL T20 cricket tourney is based here and a section of people protesting against the Centre for not setting up the Cauvery Water Management Board are suggesting that IPL matches in the city not be held while some parties plan to picket the IPL teams.
CSK is scheduled to play its first home match on Tuesday against the Kolkata Knightriders at the Chepauk M A Chidambaram stadium.
The team resides at Hotel Crowne Plaza. The hotel has erected a sign board on its campus wishing CSK for the IPL tourney.
