Fisherfolks and others who live in Nochikuppam off the Marina near the Light House went on a protest on Wednesday morning to condemn the police action against people demanding closure of the Sterlite plant in Tuticorin in south Tamil Nadu.
The protest began this morning; a large contingent of state police had taken position earlier. The protestors were later bundled into vans as they got arrested.
