Volunteers serve water, buttermilk at temples

The volunteers of the Pradosham Association of Sri Kapaleeswarar temple welcome the devotees at the entrance of the temple with a glass of water this summer.
This happens between 9 am and 11:30 am. Buttermilk is offered between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.

“We’ve been doing this for the past month from April 13 and we’ll wrap up on May 31. Though Kapaleeswarar temple is the main base for our work, we are providing free water even at Sri Velleeswarar Temple and at the Jain temple,” said one volunteer on Friday.

But there is some discouragement too. As the volunteer put it, “The only issue of concern is that some temple staff do not approve of this.”
