MLA willing to help when you intend to sink recharge wells in local streets, drains to tap floodwater

Is rainwater flooding in your area’s streets and roads when it rains? Then you may want to consider tapping that water and help raise the groundwater level in the area.

A community body in R A Puram has done it – spending about Rs.40,000 on sinking two recharge wells in two streets. The MLA witnessed the work and hopes to implement and support similar projects which are critical to a colony.

If you intend to sink recharge wells along the street corners or inside storm water drains ( they must not carry sewage), you may approach the MLA to help get a permit from Chennai Corporation for such work in a public space.

The MLA says he also has plans to sink recharge wells in some areas of Mylapore.
