Chanting and making friends in MRC Nagar

Back in June 2017, when Lalitha Raja, a resident of Rani Meyyammai Towers at MRC Nagar invited friends over to chant the Lalitha Sahasranamam on Friday evenings, little did she realise that she would make lasting friendships.

The group, which now has 50 members, recently celebrated its first anniversary by visiting the Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple at R. A. Puram.

Says Jayashree Sundaresan, a resident of the apartment community, “The residents take turns to host the event every week. We all come dressed for the occasion and stay back after the chanting session for some fun time while gorging on the delicious prasadam. Occasionally we also celebrate birthdays. We have been doing it without a break every week and hope to continue it for many years to come”.
