Organic rice store relocates: encourages plastic-free options

Spirit of the Earth, the initiative by AIM for Seva has moved into a new space within the same premise in Mylapore. It has shifted to the ground floor and now has a store front.

In an attempt to further encourage zero-waste living, Spirit of the Earth has introduced plastic-free food dispensers. “Our food dispenser is carefully manufactured using sustainable materials: glass, aluminium and wood and is a first of a kind in the city”, says Alagammai Jayanthi, Director of Marketing.

As an alternative to plastic, customers can measure their rice in plain gada bags, which can be reused on their next purchase. It can hold upto 2 kgs. Customers are also encouraged to #BYOR (Bring Your Own Reusables) and save Rs.15 off on every kilo rice bought.

Along with organic heritage rice, the new space also features products made by differently-abled adults of AIM for Seva Krupa Home.

The store is located at Srinidhi Apartments, No. 4, Desika Road, Mylapore. Ph: 24987955 / 66 / 9500082142.

Store timings – Monday to Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 pm. Website: www.spiritoftheearth.in
