Chitirai Chatiram at South Mada Street to open on March 13 for Panguni Festival

Chitirai Chatiram at South Mada Street will be opened on March 13 for the Panguni Festival of Sri Kapali Temple.

The opening ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on this day.

From then on it will remain open till the end of the festival in the evenings (6 p.m. onwards) depending on the festivities on each day.

Painting and other renovation works are going on now.

The members of Vyasarpadi Vinayaga Mudaliar Nambagam who manage the chatiram will also hold their art gallery exhibition.

“We will start arranging the dolls and other artworks once the renovation is over,” says a member of the Nambagam.

“150-year-old dolls and antique paintings depicting different stories will be on display,” he says.
