T. R. Leelavathy, passed away on March 10 at her residence in Bishop’s Garden Extension, R. A. Puram.
Born in the Andamans and brought up in Mylapore, she lived a Mylaporean life for 92 years. She went to school at Lady Sivaswami, Mylapore and went on to be a teacher in the same school. Known to most girls who went to Lady Sivaswami as ‘Leela teacher’, she served the school as needle craft specialist for 36 years.
