As the summer holidays are on, children are seen playing their favourite games at various grounds and parks of Mylapore.
On Tuesday evening, at a quiet nook off Bishops Garden Extension Street, R. A. Puram we spotted three kids of Kutty Gramani Street – Abinaya, Shreya and Vaishnavi – playing choppu jaman.
Said Abinaya, “Every year during the arubathumoovar festival of Sri Kapali Temple, we buy choppu jaman and put it away, so we can play during summer.”
Their father, Nagaraj has an ironing shop on this street. From his work spot he kept an eye on the children who seemed to enjoy the fun.
