Urban Primary Health Centre at C. P. Ramaswamy Road to shift to Lions Diabetes Centre on the same road

Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) at C. P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet is being shifted to Lions Centennial Diabetes Centre on the same road.

From the past week, the hospital beds and other materials are being shifted by the Chennai corporation contract workers.

“It will take a few more days for us to complete our shifting,” said a nurse of this health centre.

The current UPHC building is in a very bad state. “Its old and anytime the roof may fall. Hence, there is a plan to demolish this building and construct a new hospital. And so we were asked to shift to the Lions Diabetes Center,” she said.

“The Diabetes Centre and we will operate in the same premises. The timings are yet to be decided,” she said.
