The elections to Nadigar Sangam, a body of film and theatre artistes held at St Ebbas Girls School, Mylapore on Sunday ended peacefully.
Though the venue, located on Dr Radhakrishnan Salai was chosen at the eleventh hour, the local police secured the place well ; only members carrying their Sangam cards were allowed into the campus area and traffic was not affected through the day.
Over 1000 artistes are said to have cast their votes through the day.
