The annual feast of Our Lady of Mylapore will be celebrated at the National Shrine of St.Thomas Basilica, San Thome from Aug 16 to 25 here.
The flag hoisting ceremony is on Aug 16 at 5.30 p.m.
Rosary, novena and Holy Mass will be said on all days of the feast. On Aug 24, car procession will be held, it starting from Dooming Kuppam and ending at the cathedral.
Our Lady of Mylapore’s statue is seen in the southern transept inside the church and is said to be where saint Francis Xavier, when in this region used to pray before his travels to the Far East.
