School girls sensitise public to shun crackers, light diyas this Deepavali

Select students at Childrens Garden School in Mylapore created placards with slogans and then came out on to the main road off Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai on Friday morning. Photo here is of the event.

They ran a campaign to communicate to the public who were walking around on tips to enjoy a safe and clean Deepavali by lighting lamps / diyas and not bursting non-green crackers.

Elsewhere, the TN Fire Service Department staff from Mylapore held a snappy event on the campus of CSI School for the Deaf in San Thome, to sensitise students to the dangers of bursting crackers if some precautions are not followed. Staff stepped in to communicate the messages the firemen shared.
