New quick eats joint opens at Alwarpet

Quick eats with flavours from across India is the speciality at this food joint in Alwarpet.

Abby’s opened a week ago at C.P.Ramaswamy Road next to Sri Krishna Sweets here.

Painted with bright yellow and purple, the quick service restaurant can seat around 10 people. A range of sliders (similar to vada pav in small size) and rolls (parathas stuffed with fillings) are on top of the menu.

The joint is the brainchild of Nungambakkam resident Abhyuday Purkayastha. Says Abhyuday, “As the city is home to a mixed population, I wanted to make sure everyone feels at home. So I came up with rolls/sliders stuffed with authentic fillings of places including Kerala, Delhi, and Kolkata.”

While Dilli Kadai Veg, Gobhi Chinatown, Achari Paneer Tikka are some of the vegetarian options, the non-vegetarian items include Kolkata Chicken, Syrian Mutton Fry, Nawabi mutton and Lasuni Chicken. All are available as sliders or rolls.

To get the authentic taste, he says they source some ingredients from the states that famously make it. Abhyuday recommends having a slider and a roll to complete a meal. The rolls come packed with butter papers and small boxes, that make it easier to eat them on the go.

Also on offer are ‘Dynabites’- poppers in varieties like panner, cheese, and spinach.

The restaurant delivers the food stuff in and around 4.5 km of Mylapore. The price of the rolls ranges from Rs.70 to Rs. 160.

At 5, Kalpataru Complex, C.P.Ramasamy Road, Alwarpet. Open from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on all days. Ph: 48633322.
