Ahead of summer, the season’s special jackfruits and watermelons are here. Most of the roadside shops in Mylapore have them for sale now.
Renuka, a hawker who sells at Kapaleeswarar Sannidhi Street, Mylapore said she started selling jackfruits from January itself.
It is priced at Rs. 100 for half a kilo.
Renuka says that the prices would go down in a few days.
Elsewhere, some hawkers at R. K. Mutt Road and South Canal Bank Road are selling cut pieces of watermelons ( a piece is priced at Rs. 10.).
The price of whole watermelon starts from Rs. 180.
